FMRP study guide
A concise guide to the Financial Markets Regulatory Practices examination: the conduct, control and market-practice expectations for wholesale financial-market activity in Singapore. It condenses the official study guide into what the examination tests, section by section.
- Exam: 100 multiple-choice questions, 2 hours, 75% to pass. (The syllabus stub in this repo prints 70%; the current IBF pass mark is 75%, and the mock grades against it.)
- Currency of the rules: the official guide states its rules as updated at 8 May 2018. Confirm the current MAS, IBF, statutory and market-practice requirements before relying on a point operationally.
How to use this guide
Section titled “How to use this guide”- Every chapter ends with Exam cues — what is tested, the deciding distinction and the common trap.
- The subject is a control chain: know the market and authority → act ethically → protect information → govern and measure risk → execute fairly → confirm and settle → manage disruption → preserve benchmark integrity. A strong answer names the role, authority, information boundary, control, escalation path and record.
- The guide’s Appendix A questions are for familiarisation with scope and format; they do not cover all examinable material.
