Appendix F — Suspicious transaction examples

Red flags include economically irrational trading, many accounts and transfers, immediate withdrawals, sudden dormant-account activity, unexplained delinquent repayment, unclear investment-management source of funds, large cash or cash-like deposits, third-party cheques, employee/company transfers, offshore structured movements, unknown beneficiaries, unexplained collateral, high-risk cross-border transfers, pseudonyms/numbered accounts, tax-evasion indicators, terrorism links, frequent signatory changes, rapid use of incoming funds as collateral, unusual young-person transfers and unregulated intermediaries. A single flag is not conclusive; assess the combination and plausibility.
